It's Thursday! Another short is ONLINE. I hope you guys appreciate that I'm slowly killing myself to produce more dirty jokes on a weekly basis. If you subscribe, you get notified when new ones are up!

Here's my current reading list, plus brief reviews:

Aug 26 - A Farewell to Arms - My least favorite Hemingway book, but still excellent
Aug 28 - The Invention of Air - Pseudointellectual nonsense punctuated occasionally by an interesting story about Joseph Priestly or Ben Franklin
Aug 29 - The Old Man and the Sea - Excellent
Sept 1 - The Pearl (Steinbeck) - Good, but not nearly my favorite Steinbeck
Sept 2 - Alice in Wonderland - Creative, but man, I can only take so much 19th century British nonsense humor

Any recommendations?

BAM! Hello everyone at 1:40 AM.

I'm pretty proud of today's question for Marty's trivia app. The program is all Marty, but I write most of the questions. This may be my opus:

Which of the following is not the name of a patriotic Superhero?
a) Fighting American
b) Liberty Belle
c) George Smashington
d) Uncle Sam

I have a feeling this one won't be as popular as yesterday's.

ALSO, it's Monday, which means NEW VIDEO UP HOLY CRAP! (This one's a short, so check back Thursday for a second update).

Also, I got a friendly link from Internet juggernaut BoingBoing, which prompted frantic IMs from several friends. Neato! If anyone out there knows Mr. Doctorow, please let him know I'm very appreciative, and am a reader of his blog.

Bam! How's everyone doing?

Why the hell isn't my library open on Saturdays? It seems like with all the California budget stuff, the first things to go are libraries and colleges. At SJSU, we had to reuse tiny amounts of not-terribly-expensive chemicals. Here at UCD, they're closing the engineering library. What gives, people?!

Oh, speaking of money, I bet you totally wanna make sure I can afford taxes this year by totally buying some totally awesome shirts.
