This comic sucks, it's simply setting up a fake strawman with a position that is untenable and that noone actually holds, simply to tear it down. Just like every comic from 1800 on.

No humor at all, either.

lol just kidding i love smbc hahaha!

Maybe this comic is funnier if you have poor vocabulary.

Embiggen is an actual word that's been in use since the late 1800s though.

I don't see any mistakes here, those words are perfectly cromulent and definitely embiggen my word power!

Lachrymose and Acrimonious are both words, though.

I could have sworn that lachrimonious was a real word too, but google tells me it's from the realm of urban dictionary.

This picstrip is doubleplusfunny. I liked how they used altwords that were spelled samewise as the basewords but plus letters ("Heart" --> "Heartoid"), and plusliked how they used altwords for low-level words like "what" and "no". It thinkmakes me of 1984.

GWB jokes, those are still current, right?? You're like the Jello Biafra of the internet.

It's always funny when people misuse their thesaurus. Comes out looking like when someone thinks the online translator can write their entire french essay for them.

I'd still say it's all worthwhile if it gets the students measuring time in fortnights.
