I'm no fan of Hillary, but you can't prove that she still thinks gays shouldn't marry privately (or that her private beliefs would actually matter from a policy perspective for that matter). It's equally as likely, if not more so, that she was lying when she said they shouldn't marry when that opinion was more popular. It's also possible that she honestly has changed her point of view. And as far as defending Gary Johnson, I'm not going to say he's an idiot, but it's pretty clear he has far too provincial and limited interest on the issues to occupy a position like the presidency. If he wanted to be serious about running he should have given at least a cursory thought to issues of importance that aren't in his general wheelhouse of talking points.
Furthermore, the free market nonsense makes libertarian thought more religion than anything. There is no free market. That's a fantasy idea. If governments don't regulate it, powerful corporations will. In other words, when talking about climate change, that means the biggest energy providers. So don't pretend like it's just a competition of what works best if the government takes their hands off. It will be whatever the coal, oil, and gas providers want if the government is hands off (mostly it is anyway).
