I would actually love to know how a court would resolve this. If there's really no way to tell (i.e. they both could have impregnated her), the court has 3 options:
1. Neither one pays, leaving the mother thrice-fucked.
2. One of them pays, probably whichever one has the worse lawyer.
3. They both pay and share the cost.
Each one has its own merits and flaws:
1. Pro: For each of them, there is no conclusive proof that he impregnated her. Why should he pay if maybe he didn't make the kid?
Con: One of them DEFINITELY impregnated her, so it's an injustice if she doesn't get paid.
2. Pro: There's a 50% chance that it's right.
Con: there's a 50% chance that it's wrong.
3. Pro: Mother gets paid, no unfairness between the twins.
Con: One of them DEFINITELY pays for a child that's not his.
And I didn't even MENTION the philosophy of it!
