Plot twist: The impact causes flat earth to start hurtling through space like a flipped coin.
(I mean, that ship/splosion is bigger than Africa)

Plot twist 2: Earth lands in the pillowy embrace of the Sun, which is really just a sea of warm fuzzies on the backside of the Earth
that we can't see when Earth flips over at night. What else is the government lying to us about?
