It's called Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
Although instead of Mars, it has a zombie plague, and all well-bred ladies are trained to fight as captains of squads of ninjas.
Ok, How about " Podkayne and Prejudice" ?

and
"Green Mars Acres"

"The Red Mars Badge of Courage"
The Gravitational Pit and Pendulum

The Raven in Space

Star Wars & Peace

This has been done.
It's called Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
Although instead of Mars, it has a zombie plague, and all well-bred ladies are trained to fight as captains of squads of ninjas.

Almost as good as Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters (which fuses the genres just slightly more effectively with its Jules-Verne-like interludes).

I liked both better than his Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Slayer which was unfortunately made into a movie first. (I guess vampire special effects are cheaper?)

All three mashups have been produced by Ben H. Winters, crediting the original authors as co-authors, and I suspect the SMBC audience would enjoy them thoroughly.

Nice crossplug to Randall (xkcd) Munroe's new book, How To.

Very kind of you, Zach.
