Your parents are weird. This is because of the way their parents (your grandparents) taught them, and because they don't want you to be weird like them, they try to teach you in the opposite way that your grandparents taught them. Because of that, you'll be weird in the opposite way that your parents are. Then, because you'll be weird, you'll teach your kids in the opposite way your parents did, which is the way your grandparents taught them, so your kids will be weird in the way that your parents are weird now, which is the same way that your grandparents are weird.

This probably isn't exactly the way intergenerational psychology works but that's what Zach thinks.
