Red Dead Redemption does have cheat codes. Here are a list of a few…

•Greed is now a virtue (gives you $500)

•You want more than you have (creates a superior horse)

•Keep your dreams simple (creates wagon)

•You want freedom (decreases wanted level)

•Seek all the bounty of this place (increases health, stamina, and deadeye levels)

While wandering around the world map, sometimes you'll find certain weird phrases scrawled about.

Sometimes they're hidden. For example, I've found a could written inside of drawers.

Other times they're more obvious. I've found one written on the side of a wrecked boat.

Once you see those phrases, go to the cheat screen and press the “Enter Cheat” button or check more here rdr2 cheats. The game will list at the bottom of the screen which button it is. Enter the phrase you found and it will unlock the accompanying cheat.
