Overextended Metaphor Parrot

Post by Intrigued »

With the recent comic on Uncomfortable Truthasaurus, I am reminded of a comic I read a long time ago that I really hoped was going to turn into a running gag. The Adventures of Overextended Metaphor Parrot (herein referred to as OMP). So what do you think? Should more of OMP's adventures be chronicled, or is he doomed to be a one shot wonder? I feel like he deserves a second shot at glory, or at least a cameo on a dickgraph joke somewhere.

I left in a "Don't care" option for political correctness, even though I feel that people who "Don't care" probably shouldn't be voting in optional anonymous polls.

Is there any way we could make it non-anonymous?

Here are some things you could do:

1) Go back in time
2) Read the rules
3) Introduce yourself
4) Read this entry on zach's personal blog.

Polls can't be nonanonypus, and the rules don't seem to have any application. Cool link to sketchy misquoted site though. I will, however, raise you one link to a legitimate site - the OMP comic direct link, in case anyone forgot.

Also, please feel free to share your overwhelming emotions in this thread, as necessary, to sway the vote towards getting OMP re-elected for a comic.

Baseball has three strikes. We don't.

Hey dude whom I don't care about at all. If you don't at least introduce yourself on the new people thread (which I am not linking too as I don't think anyone dumb enough not to be able to find it deserves to be here anyway) we don't give a crap about what you have to say. THE RULES, tell you to introduce yourself. It's polite. It's the thing to do. It's... eh I don't care anymore.

Your opinion is invalid and irrelevant.

Pah, you call that Moxie? I doubt he could even steal his own wallet from his pants without himself noticing.

Hmm, that's my 3rd time reading through the rules, and I don't see anything about it being "THE RULES" to introduce yourself... unless you mean rule 4 (Infanticide is essential), but that seems like a stretch. I guess I'll concede on the fact that introducing yourself in the traditional way is probably polite and "the right thing to do", but I figured it would be better to use this forum to post something I'm interested in, which would, in fact, be a way of introducing myself. Anyway, fortunately I had read the rules and was very well prepared for rule 14 already.

In conclusion,

Some guy named Cirtur thought it was important for people to introduce themselves.

But he's not around any more.

Anyway. This thread was another post in the thing that said NEW PEOPLE LOOK HERE BEFORE POSTING -- I AM NOT KIDDING THIS IS IMPORTANT INFORMATION up at the top of the screen.

I... I always thought it was a rule to introduce yourself.

I guess it's an unwritten rule. One of those all essential ones you have to figure out by reading topic/thread titles.

Maybe someone could just add it to the rules? You guys do come down like a ton of bricks on anyone who doesn't introduce themselves, so it only fair to give them a chance if they are good enough to read the rules
