I better die

Post by party_djs_confession_911 »

Hello,

There is a bad story that was happened to me last 3 weeks,
so i want to tell everybody about this.

Im working at the Addictive Labs,
we are analysing risks of bying items on the internet for the end
user. So as usual, i was ordering products from my research table,
the name of report were 'tickets online', so as you already
understood it was all about ticketing. I chose my first item, it
was about concert tickets (We usually have sitelists from our database
we need to check, but this day i was thinking to try search
engines for that and take top site from there). So i got shoking results:

First researched site (will not use real names here), was in the top
of most search engines i tried:

"Concert Ticket Brokers
It is now possible to order concert tickets online
from one of premiere concert ticket brokers.
Just click on the artist you're interested in
below for prices and seating locations. If you don't see
the concert tickets you are looking for use
the search function to the right, view our Advanced Search to view tickets to
hundreds of events nationwide! You don't have to order
your concert tickets online.
If you prefer we can take handle your transaction over the phone."

So this was only for the beginning, i tried these links, also tried another shops
coming next by these in the lists of SE, and what i found that i was able to buy
(means to PAY) for a ticket. These sites were well designed and all of
them gave me a form to place an order, but nobody took the phone at support
line provided at most sites while i tried to call and most not even replied to my emails.

I got 75% of ordered tickets, but 25% were lost (at least they're still not
here, and there're no support to call, and no email reply). I was trying to
buy justin timberlake concert tickets.

We had around 900 sites were tested, so lots of sites were
strange, and i never get any responce where my money was taken.

So what i want to say in conclusion, you need to be careful ordering
tickets online. I hope we get the report published soon so everybody
can analyse it and make an own decisions about buying tickets online.

Here are some links you should better avoid for buying from:
One of my sites.
Another of my sites.
One that everyone knows not to buy from.

I hope this story help you start thinking of risks, and not buying directly
from not approved sites.

And that's how I solved the caper of the missing clock.

Funny, online is the only place I have ever purchased tickets. And I tend to stick to reputable sites wherever possible. Though I did get overcharged for my Ben Harper tickets but that was due to an American/Canadian exchange thing. The site (bought them through Harper's site) said Canadian dollars but my receipt said American. Ah well, it was only about $10 extra between the two tickets.
And thats my story of buying tickets online, since we are telling them...
Also, I would like to work for a company that throws money away to crooked ticket sales companies. But I would not like one that would buy Justin Timberlake tickets...
