I think a good majority doesn't want to hear that kind of free speech. Why do you think people protest Klan rallies even though they're perfectly legal under free speech and peaceful protest laws? Because they're racists and spreading hate speech, duh!

Why does no one protest the Tamil Tiger rallies in Toronto? I guess Fantino* would've taken care of it but now he's gone, and no one seems to be bothered by the fact that a bunch of terrorists are blocking University Avenue. Anyway, that doesn't have a lot to do with anything. The point is, people are free to protest a Klan rally as they are to be a part of it. Only allowing one of them to keep going is, to me, like siding with a particular race, and if you side with the protesters then that just makes everything very confusing. Why are only popular opinions legal?

I think the organization of a group that has advocated and carried out many crimes and murders should be stopped. Free speech is one thing, but the group's purpose is not just spreading hate. The Klan needs to go. I mean, bringing a ton of rotten eggs and dumping them along the road that they are marching on isn't oppressing them, right?

If you never get past racism then maybe there's a problem with your country being full of people who would actually side with aryan bullcrap. Maybe the problem is that you live in a racist country. At that, I know that this has been brought up before but the civil rights movement was, at the time, a very socially inappropriate thing. We tried to stop that, too. And of course from our viewpoint the civil rights movement was much better than the Klan, and of course I have to agree with that; the point is that stepping on any opinion because it's not popular is hardly above pissing on the civil rights movement, and it's a conceit to think that it is, that is no different than theirs to think that it is (sorry for the tough parsing).

Technically it's a "new" klan, and they are divided into chapters that are often in opposition, but I do believe it's a crime to be part of a criminal organisation, and in that light, the second they fuck up they should lock their asses up. Isn't that how things should work? What happened to your government's laws that forbid things like crime and murder?

People will always be racist, because there will be classifications we do deem as okay, and others we do not deem as okay. It's a double edged sword, where we can't just ignore our ancestry but at the same time can't see that as anything overly important. We believe our origins are important, and others will judge us on that. If we don't believe our origins are important, than we can avoid things like fighting one another for our parent's disputes and can throw away racism, but we lose tradition and buy into the bull that modern thinking is superior somehow.

You will not win. Just yell at anyone that accuses you of being racist until they agree to either admit you are not racist or give up.

I am so for total and ridiculously complete free speech. I think the idea of hate crimes is wholly unconstitutional, too. The idea that you can sue someone for harassment, it's just not constitutional. In some other country, it can be, but you can't draw the line with free speech. There must not be a line because it's a whole and complete thing, or not a thing at all. You can't compromise it, even if it creates serious problems on a social level.
