It's actually not that uncommon if you look through history. I mean look at Quebec and how they treat the Mohawks in the Kanesatake region. It's almost a mirror image of Quebec at the beginning of the Quiet Revolution.

Now all I can think of is a bunch of rebels sneaking around with one finger on their mouth killing royalty or corrupt government officials.

For too long now, a plague of decrepit elected officials has brought shame to the city council of New Outlandia. This band of corrupt misfit mods has led this once vibrant villa into a state of stagnancy and devoid of innovation. I have come to realize that as long as the power of this city rests in a moderator council, it will forever loom in despair. I feared for this city and so I came to study it's colorful history. That was when I discovered that in the Golden Era, this city was not run by a despicable rabble, but from a single pillar of strength and measure. A Mayor. A single source of power to cut out the cancer of this fair town and suture the wounds that have been allowed to fester for so long. That is why I move to hold our first mayoral election in almost 4 years. We need a single source of stability who controls all Outlands decisions where nobody else can edit or delete. Not even the Floridian Jew (real original there) and the fruity one (no, not that one, the one that's a universal mod).

We must return the Outlands to their glory days. We need a Mayor! As the only forum kin of the previous mayor, I feel it is my duty to make the first nomination. Therefore, it is my sincere and humble honor to present the man who will, with Yamid's grace, become this beautiful city's next first citizen and usher in a new era of prosperity and prescription drug bargains. While I agree with your general position, I must admit that I do not think our good friend Cataphractos is best fitted for overseeing a blighted wasteland. When I appointed the Council to oversee the Outlands, I had (foolishly, it seems) believed that a sort of pride of community would make them better caretakers. Time and again I have been proven incorrect in this assumption, as petty squabbles turn into editing wars whilst spam-bot creations go un-consolidated.

I think it is time for a Competition, to see who is really worthy of the stewardship of these desolate and barren lands. I propose that the duration of the Competition, there be no Mods of the Outlands but the Globals, and that all Forum Residents who wish to rule this wasted demesne are to take part in Honourable Combat. I have yet to decide upon a form suitable to such an occasion, but I am leaning towards some form of Rap Battle, or perhaps a Flame War.

The format would be similar to that of our hallowed Sketch Battle, but instead of one scathing comic each, it would be a back-and-forth fight with injurious insults, pointed puns, and agonizing alliteration. Battles would last for two days or until one of the duelists concedes, with a day of rest between battles to tally votes.

Of course, all of this assumes that anybody actually wants control of such a blasted and inhospitable territory.

Does anybody else agree that this is the proper way to allot ownership of this place?

I declare that we should go back to the days of the Republic, with the two elected consuls ruling jointly*!

I don't know that we need more than two people modding the desolate outlands, but if a competition were to be held to decide one non-global mod to assist, I would support it.

Astasia doesn't turn up any more.

The outlands are only "desolate" due to YOUR inferior leadership and corruptible nature! We don't need a non-global mod to "assist" you. There are already half a dozen. We need new top down leadership. One section of the board free from global mod tyranny! Viva la Résistance!

Also, rap battle. This idea pleases me. But it should be a battle royale. Not 1v1. I also vote extra points for audio and/or video of said battle rapping style beats being dropped in a manor indicating that it contains a high therminance (which is henceforth a word).

Meh. Just kick me off the list already, I don't do anything with it (I don't even edit other peoples posts... maybe I should go and abuse this privilege while I have the chance) and the few times I've had a chance to consolidate usa-chan's spamarific posts I've forgotten I had the ability. Hence, my anit-vote for me.

Having said that a battle sounds like fun, I like fighting, I want to be part of a battle! I don't even care what it's for!
