Are you buying it out of a store, the back of a van, or some guy's trenchcoat?

A friend brought me back a $5 Folex from China once. It was very nice. Took three whole weeks to break.

I got a Bony Hi-Fi once.

I stared at that picture whilst meditating to this. ODDLY COMPLEMENTARY. Not sure why.

Bony Hi-Fi only plays Boney M. hits, 24 hours a day at full volume. It's a niche market.

I think you don't fully appreciate the timeless cross-culture influence of Boney M. Its a universal market, not a niche one.

I learned more about Tsarist Russia from Boney M than I did from a semester of Russian History*.

No, I agree with both points. I first heard of them as a kid thanks to my parents obsession with them, coming from a third world country, and one of the first bands I knew about. It is a worldwide phenomenon, just not very popular over here in this day and age. Niche really wasn't the right word I guess.

Haha, oops. Well, yeah. I'm mean for all I knew, Boney M could have still been quite massive over in Canadia. I've noticed they still get some mentioned over in the UK, especially around Christmas time thanks to their numerous appropriately themed songs.

They are a Christmas staple here, too. And I think a lot of people will start singing "Ra-ra-Rasputin" when his name is mentioned. Aside from that, I think that's pretty much the only real lasting cultural relevance, although a lot of people would recognize Rivers of Babylon.
