James Randi needs your help too :-) Be a skeptical activist!

Post by blork02 »

Hi geeks !

As, I suppose, most of you, I am super excited about the ongoing kickstarter for "SCIENCE: Ruining Everything Since 1543" !
Awesome people are awesome !

But actually, there's not only this project that I believe we should back right now.

As we speak, there's another great kickstarter project doing a documentary about one of the greatest skeptical activists of our time : the Amazing Randi http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/220 ... andi-story .

Him and his foundation (http://www.randi.org/) have been intelligently fighting against charlatanism and tried to promote critical thinking all around the world for many years.

I definitively think people need to see this film and that the producers of this project NEED YOUR SUPPORT by backing it.

Thanks for sharing it too. :P

In short : rise you dopamin level by the excitement of participating to something great, add a spoon of oxytocin for a nice feeling of belonging and reward yourself by kicking those stoned neurons with several good beers ! Forget everything. Then repeat the process.

Oh man. I thought with a name like 'Randi' this would at least be about porn. I am highly disappointed that it's not.

Or is it?

Blah blah science science internet science.

And here I was thinking this was some sort of drag queen Ayn Rand parody thing.

James Randi is actually way cool. He's a major anti-pseudoscience activist.
Ask the next question.

I mostly know who Randi is for his million dollar challenge thing. Otherwise I know nothing about him, though I'm sure he's lovely. Either way it doesn't make it any less annoying when non-members come on here and post for the sole purpose of asking us for money.

Bwa ha ha! They were asking us for money!

We can't even get a banner working. Who would think we have money?!

While I think James Randi is one of the better skeptics/debunkers out there and one of the few who doesn't annoy me, I don't see why a documentary about him would be important.
