Oh of course, I wasn't saying that all murderers are just misunderstood saints or anything like that, some are horrible people. Just that the situation isn't black and white. The world isn't divvied up into good people and bad people, and one wrong move doesn't permanently make someone a monster.
However, this thread was not intended to be a comment on whether or not you think the death penalty is right or wrong. I think what is interesting about it, is the fact that the concern is not about human lives, but about the cheapest option. (And, yes, I forget who said it, but prevention would be the cheapest option. Instead of spending about $50,000 per person per year for incarceration, let's spend $50,000 per child per year on education.) When you're talking about lives, how can you not feel ashamed if your biggest concern is the finances of killing them?
I can comment on this. I think this is just the driving value of our society. It's all about money, you can't do anything without it or go anywhere without it. And if you want any power you need it. This of course carries into so many other issues, the environment for example. Yes we're destroying the rain forests and yes more and more animals are becoming endangered every day, but that's because it's still profitable. If people would stop eating shark fin soup, sharks would stop being over fished. I'm not saying it's right, because of course it's not, but it is unfortunately how we are set up as a society. So it's hardly surprising, from my perspective anyways that the main argument here would be money and not ethics.

But of course who's going to side with a murderer right? It's probably also a lot easier to speak out against the death penalty if you do it from an economic stand point. At least more people would probably listen.

Money makes the world go round and we, society, kill people daily because it costs too much to keep them alive. *cough*your American HMOs*cough* Every single life has an invisible money tag on them, sickies and felons have rock bottom prices. Besides in this economy you have to save money some place.

Truth of the matter is I'm anti-killing*. I do not support war for any reason (in my opinion soldiers are murderers), I do not support the death penalty (clearly it doesn't work as a deterrent) and I don't condone murder even if the person really deserved it. So if "it costs to darn much" is the reason they are getting rid of the death penalty, so be it.

*I am Pro-Choice and support euthanasia and suicide (assisted or regular). I'm complex.

I'm also pro-choice, support euthanasia and assisted suicide, but am also anti-death penalty. It's probably actually not that rare of a combination.
If we weren't such good friends, I'd wish you were dead.

I'd kill her during. Perhaps if it doesn't happen on god's green earth and she's dead before I climax, I have "plausibly deniability".

By the way, I'd love to know what would happen if I climaxed in zero gravity. Hopefully no backlash.

I'm learning that when I leave my jokes purposely ambiguous I always lose at the battle of wits.

It totally depends on how well she looked after her skin. I mean if she did needle drugs or had low self esteem and cut/burned herself so that she could feel pain and realize she is still alive, I'll let her live. Those people make terrible coats.

I'd have to disagree with you there. I'm with Bob Geldof, we have enough concerts we can cure death in Africa and eventually the rest of the world.

Who wants to help record the charity single?
