Dinosaurs!

Post by smiley_cow »

So apparently they discovered three new kinds of dinosaurs in Australia since the last time I checked the news.

The article I read is here for the curious.

They keep releasing new fossils even though they're dead, kind of like Tupac.

Yeah, yeah. Laugh it up. Tupac was the best damn archaeologist the world had ever seen. It's not his fault his rap career overshadowed it.

I had heard that they weren't actually new fossils, just extended versions of the originals. Complete with archaeologist's commentary, and special features disc.

The special features disc isn't that great. It only consists of a few interviews with the the fossils. You can pretty much imagine how that goes.

Oh and a trailer for an upcoming fossil discovery. A whole disc just for that, really?

Don't forget the outtake where the crew has to sort out what is dinosaur, and what is the leftover bones of KFC that one of the archaeolgists haphazardly discarded.

Huh. I guess that only comes on the double deluxe edition. It isn't on mine.

Isn't the long neck dinosaur not real? I think they accidentally combined the incomplete fossils of two dinosaurs.

Are you perhaps thinking of the brontosaurus which used to be another name for the Apatosaurus? I can't remember why they changed it, something to do with classifications, and the term brontosaurus also being used to refer to other sauropods (long-necks)*

Pretty sure that was a scene from Jurassic Park. Aren't they about due for another one of those?
