Here we have Vibrio vulnificus, a flesh eating bacteria. If you go swimming with an open wound it can get in your blood stream and will probably kill you.* Take that Australia. Most people get it from eating raw or undercooked seafood. That can kill you too, but it is less likely now that they know how to diagnose and treat it.

*Admittedly this os extremely rare.

"TIL that when Australia stopped using the pound as it’s currency, some suggested names for the the new currency were the austral, the oz, the boomer, the roo, the kanga, the emu, the digger, the Quid, the dinkum and the Ming before the government ultimately settled on the Australian dollar."

All better options than dollar.

Okay maybe I'm just mad at Americans calling the Euro the Eurodollar.

Or you are just jealous of the Canadian moniker for our one-dollar coin: The Loonie. It has a loon on it.
Or our dad-joke moniker for our two-dollar coin: The Toonie (or maybe twonie? I'm not sure I've needed to spell it before).

It's just sad we didn't opt for calling it the Dollaridoo.
