Re: INTERNATIONAL WAR
Every time I see the title of this thread, I mentally append "IN THE GAY BAR, GAY BAR GAY BAR WHAOW!" and then a guitar solo.
Police said they spent some time working out if they could charge the man with being armed with a weapon, as technically he was armed with part of a fish.

Re: INTERNATIONAL WAR
Wasn't it 'Nuclear War' in that song?

Yes it was. But I play by my own rules!

HE'S GOT NOTHING TO LOSE. EXCEPT FOR HIS LIFE. AND HIS POSSESSIONS. AND RELATIONSHIPS. BUT OTHER THAN THAT HE'S GOT NOTHING TO LOSE.

Now, admittedly, I haven't watched a single World Cup game yet this month, but all this uproar against vuvuzelas seems incredibly stupid and just a little racist.

Re: INTERNATIONAL WAR
Agreed. I honestly don't notice them after the first few minutes. Maybe it's different if you're there, but what's a sporting event without lots of noise. Bomber games are the whole reason I learnt to whistle.LordRetard wrote:Now, admittedly, I haven't watched a single World Cup game yet this month, but all this uproar against vuvuzelas seems incredibly stupid and just a little racist.
Also: why France, why!?

Re: INTERNATIONAL WAR
I completely agree with both of you. They are making WAY too big of a deal about them. When I flipped to a few games it was annoying. But like Cow said, when watching a full game, you tune them out pretty quickly. Now I just don't care. But I agree that this uproar is beginning to sound vaguely racist.smiley_cow wrote:Agreed. Firstly, given the level of drug resistant tuberculosis infection in the country, it may pose a very real health risk.
Secondly, I find loud - pointless - noise both irritating and inherently childish. Shocking, I know, but there you have it. (What? Too racist?)
To even the playing field: all sport and its concomitant fandom is a foreign country to me... if not a little sad/depressing. :/

Re: INTERNATIONAL WAR
Oh, sheesh.. .for a second there I was confused. Given that there's hordes of the sods camping out in ZA. So perhaps their dislike for black people extends to hotels?
