For the football cup!

Yeah, we need a thread for it. So I will start off by mentioning that I don't think England will win and that Australia just got schooled.

Yes it is the cup

After watching Germany play, I think they might have a shot. Though everyone seems to really want South Africa to win. Personally I'm still cheering for France even though I know their chances aren't great, and Côte d'Ivoir even though their best player is out with an injury.

Hup, hup, hup.

While every one of my Dutch friends is pissed that 2 of the prelim round games are at 7:15am EST, I'm ecstatic. It means I can race home from work and sit down to a nice game of futbol.

I'm not suprised. Australia was up against a powerhouse Germany, and anyone who has been following Australia prior to the World Cup (read: no-one in the country) would know that Australia was struggling against relative minnows in the lead up to the finals. Last time around it was something special because they had to play against the South American pool to qualify, which is no easy task, and their golden run to the quarterfinals was actually not that incredulous. This time around it was a lot easier to qualify against less experienced Asian countries, and I think the lack of difficult games prior to this tournament showed.

Anyway, enough of my rant. GO GO SOUTH KOREA!

German people are bad at sports. It's just genetics.

Historically, German people have had a lot of interest in genetics.

I don't remember what Moss says, but I'd say my attitude towards "football" is the same as his.

Intercounty football is more fun in my opinon.

Instead of the World Cup, we should all just go to war and fight.
