Hmm ... I guess that really explains itself.hawhaw1267 (in some thread or another, I can't find it) wrote:"insert something about being in school still and not yet hitting puberty and therefore not legally being able to drink beer here".
Geez Hawhaw, I expected better. I mean, sure, I went to a ton of parties where there were people under 15 drinking, but they weren't smbc forum members! For Shame.

Wait, you can drink at 15 in a Land Down Under? It's 21 here. I think UK has a pretty early age too, but I swear I saw 4-year-olds shooting whiskey in an Irish pub I went to in London.Simon. wrote:I mean, sure, I went to a ton of parties where there were people under 15 drinking, but they weren't smbc forum members! No, our legal age is 18, but I was reducing it even more, because drinking at 17 is pretty much compulsory, and most people start drinking and getting drunk at parties at around 14. And Woah, 21? That would suck! I guess this is what comes from having a culture synonymous with cold hard beer. At least, that's how we see ourselves.TwoBuy wrote:Wait, you can drink at 15 in a Land Down Under?

From 5 it's legal for us to consume alcohol on non-licensed premises (so this usually means at home), and from 14 we're allowed in bars (though not to drink there). We're allowed to drink in bars from 16, but not buy it ourselves, but we can buy alcohol in restaurants. From 18, anything goes.TwoBuy wrote:I think UK has a pretty early age too,
In practice (at least where I grew up), it doesn't matter a bit how old you are, they'll serve you anyway. That said, I did look a lot older than I was.

Sure, I mean, I live in the States as well...and having the drinking age be 21 sucks major balls. I'm 17 and I never had a beer until my B-Day last year. Luckily I will be 18 in 2 more weeks so then I'm allowed to buy porn and ciggeretts. Not that I smoke or anything, but it's the principle of the matter.

And by the way, does the drinking age of 21 actually stop anybody, because people, even cops over can be lenient on underage drinkers, with our age of 18. So I can only wonder if it's the same in the states. Or are they all zealous martyrs for the policeman cause?

dman straight... filthy pigshawhaw1267 wrote:Yeah, cops suck over here. If they see an underage drinker, they assume that they have a gun with them so they will use their nightsticks to break your kneecaps off. They might even pistol whip you down at the station, but that depends on how drunk you are.
But seriously, cops suck ass

Yeah, underage drinking is nailed pretty hard. Even college kids who are like 19-20 at parties can get pretty major convictions for having one beer. US law enforcement sucks a lot.
