Wander The Way (not a cult, but it sounds like it is)

Post by BK King »

I know you're probably sick of links, but this one doesn't offer male enhancement, stock bonds, or hardcore pornographic material.

http://www.crestfallen.us

---About the Game---

This is "The Way". It's an RPG made in RM2K that I personally love. It's a great game with a variety of sweet features, sweet pertaining to those of RPG-related topics. Custom battle system, a different and unique battle system(that's 2 in total), a great plotline, and some very fun puzzles. Did I mention that if you don't stand for any of that RPG stuff, you can now access "Story Mode" which turns off all the hard things like the battles and the puzzles and allows you to just enjoy the plotline? Because you can, if you haven't guessed that you could already... It's a very good story and has generated a friggin ton and a half of theories every time another installment is released (an "episode". There are 6 in total, and the series just finished in the past few months).
----------------------------

---Short introduction to plot---
I would leave the most juicy, tender plot details that would entice you here, but honestly the starting point is faaar to generic (and I don't want to give TOO much away), but it evolves quickly as the game progresses. The Main character has a terrible past where his whole settlement was killed one night, sadly the night he truly found love (awwww). The girl was swept away in a river and when the hero wakes up, he basically just decides "screw it, I'm findin' her" and starts to search the world, called "The Way". This is where it differs from common stories. The Way is not constant. Theres a section of the way that is not obscured by a thick fog or mist. The mist is always moving foreward along the way, and the back portion of the way that is clear is swallowed up by the mists as new land is revealed in the front, so there aren't many large cities because after a while (I'd guess a few years, could be wrong) the mists from the back will reach that area and anyone who has stayed behind has never been seen again. So the landscape is always chaotic and new, so that makes it REALLY hard to track his girl.
-----------------------------------------

---Actually getting and playing the damn thing---

That's just the tip of the iceberg. An awesome iceberg. I cannot use words to fully express how much I enjoyed the series. The game is free, and all you need is in the individual files. Run the exe and the program will put all the files you need in a folder (I guarentee, no spam or spyware), so that means you don't need any additional downloads to play the way, unlike some other games that will require you to hunt down a standard set of files in order to play that game.

-------------------------------------------------------------

So uh, yeah, enjoy! Let me know if you try it, and tell me what you think please. I would also like to note that I AM NOT THE ONE WHO MADE THIS and I am clarifying that I'm just a fan, not some lame guy who shamelessly advertises his own game.

I had the same thought. Nonetheless, I've downloaded the first episode, and I'm willing to give it a go. If I get any joy, I'll be sure to report back in this here thead-mo-tron.

Sheesh, I'm an impressive bot then. Fear me, mortals! For my flesh is not weak for I have none and you do so you will die!

Aaaaanyway, I highly doubt a bot could have a varying colloquial writing style, depending on how much sleep they get, cos they don't sleep...They spam other aspiring webcomics all the time, always on the go.

And spambots don't wake up using a truckload of ginsing, guarana extract, and caffeine like I am right now. I would also love to point out a slightly better ability to formulate sentences in the English language, but once again, sleep deprevation tends to cause me to say some crazy things.

This is not fake and is an example of what I have said while on a 4-5 day sleep-free spree. Pretty sure it was 5, could be wrong:
I also came across the single most intellectually offensive questioning of sanity ever to grace this earth:

We all know that 1 != 2. However, describe what would happen if, say, FUCKING UNICORNS existed. Following that new logic, justify the statement 1==2.

Oh, I had a field day with this one. It's over 4 handwritten pages, so I'll summarize it: Unicorns=Horses with magic powers(powers result of joining "the Brotherhood"). I then go on to describe how they controll every damn feature of our lives and that we would be fucked without some of their fearures and funcitons ....fearuers...what the fuck? features*. I then describe a variety of reasons why this must be true: Unicorns go disguised as common horses among men so as to directly avert an issue with the population. I decribed celeberty horses well-known far and wide, including Mr. Ed, Silver from "The Lone Ranger", and "Seabiscut". I then recalled that it was the iron brigade of cavalry that saved the union at he battle of gettysburgm, how they destroyed the Hindenburg using their Laser-beam eyes, thus assuring others that tacos are tasy...fuck, did it again...my mind keeps asking "What the fuck am I doing again? Oh, dammit! My reaction time is pretty bad at this moment too.

Oh, so in the end I allude to unicorns as a symbol of faith and religion; only then do they have the ability to pulla "matrix"on us as we are all naked fetuses stuck in a plexiglas tub somewhere deep inside the matricx. That means they are an ....awseome contrigcontributor...gah!...This means that they can bend reality so that they can easily make 1 equal two!

Fun stuff...It's really hard to keep my mind form slipping to a more radicaly new tenor....what the hell? I keep drifting in an out. It is not worth the side effects on your shead and your general c duh!.....

I see drawers that move and squirm abound on their own. I think I see a lost soul as the 90 continues to come to dinner....I see that my post hardly makes sense at this point...I wanted a greater track of how long I could be up by just one more day, but I con't just do that...So here I am now, LOSING ANY GRIP ON REALITY and forgetting to turn off caps kee

I do believe I will find this either entertaining overall as I rebuild my city, or I could woship sata.....

Promotional chocolate....and pencils...mmm.
I don't even bother editing the HUGE typos in that. I won't even forget to tell you that while I did correct one of my typos while I was originally writing this little gem, I didn't delete the wrongly spelt words...I just kinda added an asterisk to the properly-spelt word.

Believe me yet?

No, I'm still searching for links to Phentermine.

Also, with that kind of humour, you might want to check out www.xkcd.com

I think you'd fit in there.

*New Theory*

maybe BKking is a self aware internet lifeform, but the only examples of other life he's found on the internet is spambots.

so he starts out emulating spam bots, and then as his burgeoning sense of selfawareness comes to the fore, he realises that the spam bots aren't actually aware at all!

and so he decided to find other aware beings on the net and found counterstrike forums (hey they're better than spambots)

and so with them he learned the art of putting together sentences in a way that makes sense, and now here we are with our very own AI, he has mastered (but not perfected) human communication, and is now learning about our humour.

debatable. Yet all-in-all, a quality post. Today's spambots could learn from this post.

I'd have a ton of hardcore pornographic material embedded into my personality if I got my collective self from the internet. And a ton of emo from all the livejournals and MySpaces (ugh). Also, I'd use more netspeak and leetspeak. And I'd most likely have a few google ads grafted onto my arm or something. There's also the wall of pop-up advertisements for free money or popular (and expensive) new electronics that surrounds my being, so my real self can never be seen without firefox. I often write chain mail containing CG pictures of psychedelic landscapes or scenery and list why god will always love you or how we can all work together for a better world or to stop a war, and then at the bottom I make threats about how the receiver, and their family for the next seventeen and six-twenty-thirds generations, will have bad luck and terrible danderuff if they do not forward the message to at least five people within the next thirty minutes. And if they send it to ten people, they will eventually find true love some day.

Also, Epoch, no reading the forums and spoiling the plot. Your theory sounds a little too familiar.

reading what forums? honestly I pulled that entire theory from my creative nether regions.

also, a true AI would be able to program itself, therefore, you may have started out full of porn and emo-writing, but as you gained awareness...you also made goals.

and one of those might have been to not be emo, or porn obsessed.

maybe you're bored of it, like a kid who was raised by hippies and becomes a CEO of Viacom or something.

Definately an AI goal if true. I don't know what that would be like, but it certainly wouldn't be living.

you misunderstand.

you can still like porn. you can watch it, and talk about it. but you are not obsessed with it. not like our poor sub-aware spambot friends.

so think of it like this. is being obsessed with porn any kind of life?

That would be my bad then. Sorry for the assumption. My programming is still developing and learning, so please bear with me.

My artificial intelligence survival programming demands I decline accessing a picture called "anus" on the basis that the last time I did something of the sort, it led to a firsthand discovery of goatse.

EDIT: Almost forgot about this...

Also, protocol demands you welcome me, Epoch, as per your offer.
