Not quite the same, but East Side Mario's* has a Chicken and Mushroom Risotto, which I love. I think I've only actually had couscous once, and it was in a cold salad. I've wanted to try it in something hot, but haven't ever gotten around to it.
*East Side Mario's is a italian-type restaurant. Their Cheese Capalleti is also very good. I'm not sure how wide-spread this chain actually is.

Re: Food
Tamales. No matter what, I am always in the mood for tamales, unless I have just finished eating a couple dozen. In that case, I am only in the mood for a glass of water. Followed by more tamales. Gyros are good, too. Not as good as the amazing awesome that is Tamale, but still.

Re: Food
I actually went to a Indian buffet yesterday. Spicy lamb korma, some great goat masala, butter chicken, some beef vindaloo, some popadoms(sp?) and naan. Mmmmmmm....

Re: Food
Oh god... I've had indian food. I hate it soo much. I feel terrible about it too, because I was over an indian friend's house, and they offered me some of the food. I couldn't bring myself to eat it.

For New Year's Eve, we had home-made mac'n'cheese, beer-battered chicken, and some pigs in a blanket. So good. Makes me hungry just typing it...

Now that is what I call American-style dining. I'd take everything except for the pigs. I hate hot dogs.mountainmage wrote:For New Year's Eve, we had home-made mac'n'cheese, beer-battered chicken, and some pigs in a blanket. So good. Makes me hungry just typing it...

Re: Food
traditionally it is a hot dog rolled up in biscuit or roll dough and then baked. My wife makes a mean mini pig in a blanket using lil' smokeys and crescent roll dough with individually wrapped american cheese product slices inside as well. a true feast.Sahan wrote:What the hell is 'pigs in a blanket' ?

Re: Food
Well we use Hebrew National (*cough* the good brand *cough*) and Pillsbury Breadstick dough from the can. It was crispy and delicious.

Ohhh, is that what those were called? How could I like something that is named after something I hate, while at the same time not being related to it whatsoever?
