For those who care, I have shifted into Spam Management: Beatdown Configuration. Upon conclusion, Civilian casualties estimated to be ~125 sapients, Spam-Bot casualties ~24,000. Estimated time until completion: 28 Hours.

Sapient - Middle English, from Middle French, from Latin sapient-, sapiens, from present participle of sapere to taste, be wise — more at sage
Sure ye don't mean Sentient?
1 : responsive to or conscious of sense impressions <sentient beings>
2 : aware

I've seen sapient used in that manner before, but I can't find it in any dictionaries, either.
You can't see it, but I am shrugging.

Why are they all called smileys? Most of them don't even smile. I mean that one does at the end. But an angry smiley just sounds stupid.

I prefer the term emoticon myself. It's more all-encompassing.

I loathe the term emoticon, and smiley. I prefer to call them "little omens that the end of the world is soon at hand".
