Re: Dear Parents,
He's right though. I've known people who are elitists in particular areas, and I could talk circles around them. Elitism tends to have more of an air of knowledge and superiority, and it is not necessary to actually have them.Cirtur wrote:I get the feeling you're not good at it.
For example, I took a pop-culture class in uni and one guy did a presentation on independent film. We were chatting after class with a bunch of us, and when he told us that was his subject, a friend piped up and said that I was interested in independent film as well. With his nose in the air, he asked me what was my favourite independent film. I asked him what his definition of independent film was. He stammered, and rather than me being an ass (or elitist) I rattled off a few of my favourites from the broadest definition I could think of. It was very difficult for me to be that nice during his presentation, though, as his 2 major examples of independent film were Reservoir Dogs and Donnie Darko. I had a page of reasonably disrespectful comments and tonnes of disagreements/counters to his presentation. Which I mostly just showed to my friends beside me.

Re: Dear Parents,
Wow is right.
I would love to see this make its way to the Supreme Court.

Police said they spent some time working out if they could charge the man with being armed with a weapon, as technically he was armed with part of a fish.

Re: Dear Parents,
First the Canadian justice system interferes with the rules of a Catholic School, and now the rules of someone's home? This is getting out of hand.
