Re: The Engineers' Club!
I'm not sure he enjoys it much anymore. He has his own mechanic repair shop that he runs and works. He also is part timing at a factory maintanence man. It's apparently a sweet deal, although the hours apparently sucketh.

Re: The Engineers' Club!
I am probably going to end up in some sort of process / manufacturing engineering end just because I am really freaking good at robotics (build my first robot from scratch at either 13 or 14, I forget - basically it would attach to a roll of toilet paper and automatically dispense paper, make 2 folds and then rip it for you via motion sensor... I loved having electronic goodies kicking around) and because I have a welding certificate as well as a machining certificate from SIAST in Weyburn (I do a lot of stuff if you haven't gotten the idea yet... 300 hours credited towards both for apprenticeship to get my journeyman...)
PS. Reading this makes me wonder why Im not Welding in the oilfield making $40 an hour.... why do I love learning so much?!??!?1

Signious, that is awesome. I unofficially helped in my high school's robotics, but did nothing technical.

Re: The Engineers' Club!
Well thanks for the support guys - it really shows that engineers have more than meets the eye... just like some other things I know of!
ie. Engineers -> Transformers
Transformers -> Awesome
Engineers -> Awesome!!!
also (Awesome -> sex therefore.... ENGINEERS -> SEX)
Try to discredit my logic people! It is Flawless

Re: The Engineers' Club!
OK everyone - we need to get more posts than the Linguists club so: SOLVE THAT SURFACE AREA TIME!!!!!
ex) calculate the surface area of the following rotated solid:
(just pulled the equations out of my ass - worked out pretty round though)
1. 9x=y^2 + 18 , 2<=x<=6 , x-axis
if you feel like solving and taking the challenge go ahead! if no one is up to it I will post the answer anyways and then withdraw into my nerdy little shell
(Edit: pun intended - get it 'shell' hehehehe)

I'm widely prolific.
I'm trying to solve that problem and I can't believe that I can't remember how to do this at all. Nope, not happening today. It'll suck if I take math next year.

I'm going to throw this out there right now... software engineering is not engineering.

I object! This is not the linguists' club, where we stress the use of words. This is the engineers' club, where we engineer shit.

Yeah, and we just engineered a rule that software engineers don't count.
