My first reaction to his death was laughter. Until I called my mom who promtly yelled at me.

He probably needed to be on medication. Unfortunately rich and famous means people will ignore that you need help or just make fun of you. I always feel bad when someone dies. =x

My facebook feed has been inundated with "RIP MJ" posts, with a few gems in between such as:

"I can't believe he's dead! Rest in peace, Heath Ledger"

"I'm so sad he's gone, RIP... Optimus Prime"

"And the little boys of the world let out a collective sigh of relief."

The people on my forum have said that it's been confirmed he's dead. But by an unreliable source.

The LA Times article on it was pretty poignant. He'd been checked out on clean health just a month before, exact cause of death still unknown on the article.

He was a man with some real issues, but he was also working with little to no social interaction outside of work from 5 years old onward. Its not surprising he was warped considering his childhood. He was still a talented man, who had a loyal fan base who I'm sure are utterly crushed that he won't be doing that sold out tour he was to start next month. Seems like this last year has seen far to many good men/women die.

He was pretty weird as a person, but his songs were pretty awesome.

Talented singer but a completely fucked individual. Alleged child molester, his kids are going to be totally messed up and he was seriously messed up mentally. I didn't know him and I will not mourn his passing. And remember things happen in threes, he had to die.

Maybe now his kids have more of a chance.

So, when I read through this thread the first time, I thought it was either a load of crap made up for the board, or an unsubstantiated rumour (Jason Mewes has been reported dead twice).
But now that it has been picked up by actual news outlets...
He was one creepy guy who had a drastic effect (for both good and bad) on the music industry.

Although MJ has given us some great music, as a person he was a freak, (even if he didn't do anything he was accused of doing, the fact that he didn't really defend himself in a sane manner means his still a freak), on the other hand, the other people dying this week have done little to make me actively dislike them.
