It was an entire season of Dallas determining who had shot J.R. at the end of the previous season killing him. Then at the end of the season they declared "It was all a dream" and brought the character back, giving us another trope we make huge fun of to this day.

I only know these things because I'm spawned from someone who takes film/tv trivia far to seriously. Though not as serious as comic books.
