A few years ago we had the first gay penguins living in San Francisco Zoo, Harry and Pepper. Well read about their harrowing split and see what you think.

And according to SFGate.com Edell is getting many e-mails from people who are outraged that Harry and Pepper split up.

Has to be my favourite line in the article. I mean come on! It's penguins! Is the zoo suppose to take them to marriage counselling? Why do I picture Republicans using this as evidence that homosexuality is indeed evil? The other gay penguin come are German and we all know that the Germans are up to no good.

But they were never married! Sure, they had a wedding ceremony, but gay marriage is still illegal and they didn't sign the contract.

I'm not. Penguins aren't even primates, and their behavior is barely comparable to a human's.

Oh man, Alaska is completely overrun with penguins. That's why the whole 'shooting wolves from a helicopter' thing got so much publicity; without the wolves to devour them, penguins overpopulate quite swiftly.
