Most chicks don't enjoy mexican food in the butt, as it's really spicy. It's nice to know you're forward about that kind of stuff.

This sounds like the perfect opportunity to stop getting stupid drunk, stop smoking, stop smoking pot, and stop blaring your music at 2 am while you eat Taco Bell, smoke, and drink.
Because, eventually, I assume, it would be nice to be a functional, responsible adult.

I'm not.astasia wrote:You're all teenagers.
And reading what you said made me realise with only one exception to that list, I'm a functional, responsible adult.
Frankly, I'm disgusted.

Well, I'm 18 and I don't do any of that, where the hell does that put me? Because I'm sure as hell not a functional, responsible adult. Nor do I want to be one yet.
And I don't think GDDT is a teen, but I can't actually remember. Nor Kimra nor Snarky, if I recall correctly.
See? I told you not to assume.

Being a teenager is not always an age, it is more of a mindset.LordRetard wrote:Well, I'm 18 and I don't do any of that, where the hell does that put me? Because I'm sure as hell not a functional, responsible adult. Nor do I want to be one yet.

I have known plenty of adults who are, essentially, teenagers. And some teenagers who are, essentially, adults.
Thinking that being cool is doing things that are deleterious to your health and annoying to others is one of those things that are quintessentially teenage.

That's right, kids. Keep on the straight and narrow, and you can be a functional adult, like me!astasia wrote:This sounds like the perfect opportunity to stop getting stupid drunk, stop smoking, stop smoking pot, and stop blaring your music at 2 am while you eat Taco Bell, smoke, and drink.

(That was a funny joke, by the way.)
Police said they spent some time working out if they could charge the man with being armed with a weapon, as technically he was armed with part of a fish.

I don't smoke.
I have (maybe) one, single, alcoholic drink a month. (sometimes I have none)
The only drugs I take are prescribed. One of them keeps me breathing, the other keeps me smiling (sort of).
I don't like parties.
I spend most my time thinking about university and what is going to happen when I finish it.
My room is clean.
I cook dinner for my family every night as well as their lunchs for the week.
On the flip side:
I have 'cartoon' characters on my walls.
I live with my parents still.
I am unemployed. (but my lovely government actually gives you money to study at university so I contribute it all to household expenses)
BUT all of this was exactly the same when I was a teenager. The only great difference is that I hated school and didn't think about the future so much. In conclusion: I don't think I'm a teenager even by your standards.
What I meant, when questioning why anyone would want to be a responsible adult is that it is highly depressing. Buying a house, paying bills, dealing with love and loss. All of these things pile onto each other and crush your soul. That's what being a responsible adult is actually about, dealing with all the crap you get to avoid when your younger. I wish I was young again and support anyone who can actually avoid being an 'adult' and responsible.
