About six months ago, I went to work for a local meat rendering facility. The easiest way to explain meat rendering is that we take the parts of animals that can't be purchased in stores or restaurants and turn them into usable pet food. We take feathers and organs of chickens and turkeys and make chicken feed, and use beef parts (organs, bones, brain, etc) and turn it into pet food meal that gets purchased by pet food companies and turned into...pet food.

We also make and recycle oils and greases from restaurants.


It's a pretty good job, stable, and I work about 50-60 hours a week. I've gotta go to Corporate in Virginia tomorrow though for an interview on Friday for a position in Corporate. I'll post how that goes later.

Is it because if one chicken eats the bits of another chicken and then it gains that chicken's power and then that chicken is killed and fed to another chicken and then it gains both chickens' power and then SOON WE WILL HAVE FLOCKS OF SUPER POWERFUL CHICKENS WHO WILL TAKE OVER THE WORLD?!?!?

Yeah, it works sort of like that.

Thread topic: I have managed to land myself a Christmas job at boots, an overgrown pharmacy where my job is to put out stock so people can buy it and to answer questions I either don't know and could never know the answer to or feel pity for the person asking them as it must be hard to go through life without half a brain cell.

I am hoping for a permanent job there.

Hey! That's sort of what I do except I don't work.

Yeah, I only do that when there's any stock to put out. Which was 20 minutes of my last four hours there.

Then you can spend the rest of your time reading the ingredients on cough medications!

My section sells make-up and shower gel and stuff nobody actually needs.

Well do you just hang around and eye customers when you're not busy? 'Cause that's just terrible. No I do NOT need any help I just want to browse through your tea selection!!

Yeah, I mostly just stare at people.

To make sure they're not thieving. It comes out of my wages*!


*Eventually. If I work there for 10 years it might one day affect my wages. But if I was a security guard it would effect my wages.
