Same here. If I showed up to work dressed up as a girl, not only would it be an unnecessary risk, they probably couldn't fire me. Still, I fail to see how this benefits me.

I'm pretty sure that firing someone because they cross-dress is illegal in Canadia since it falls under sexual orientation. So I think you're right. And don't you belong to a union to boot? That makes you like untouchable.

They can't even fire me for doing a shitty job. The only thing I've heard of someone getting fired for was not showing up.

So what would count as showing up, but doing a shitty job?

So, hey, I nailed my interview. If all goes according to plan, I'll be moving to Winchester, VA within the next month (or beginning of February at the very latest) for a salary job with paid relocation, paid college tuition, full benefits, and a Monday thru Friday, 8-5 position. Very nice, no?


Also, thanks to that fucking blizzard that's pummeling VA, it took me 20 hours to drive 365 miles. Why so long? Because all hotels from Salem VA to Charlotte NC were booked to hell (I even offered to bribe one hotel receptionist and he kicked me out! What a Classy Lady!) and I had to go down the side of a mountain in a blizzard at 1am, just to find out a tractor trailer slid sideways and blocked the flow of traffic until 4am. Luckily, I get paid .45c a mile for the trip (round trip was a little under 900 miles), plus my hourly rate for working will be paid for driving (in one day, I got 20 hours!), plus a 45 dollar a day displacement fee, not to mention all expenses on the trip were paid for.

God, life is awesome.

Now I have to go replace the windshield that busted on the trip (never run defrost constantly in 12 degree weather, guys), replace the windshield wiper that broke off during the trip, and find out where this smoke is coming from. I don't recommend doing a 800 mile trip in snow in a Toyota Corolla.
