Hey, it's a business. That's why they're so dangerous.

I have no insurance. Haven't had any since I came off my dad's insurance a few years ago. Kind of scary but I never really get sick or anything so I haven't *needed* it.

I'm not actually afraid of getting hurt, just debt. I'm living debt free so getting sucker punched with a 5 figure hospital bill would suck.

You should just learn first aid from the internet.

I'm uninsured myself. When I was sick a few weeks ago, my box of Tamiflu cost me 104.99. Fucking bullshit.

Guys, I know most of us are young, but it is really important to begin saving. Seriously, just 10 bucks a week if you can do it will be significant.

You're kidding, right? The doctor who prescribed it is a close family friend. If there was a generic equivalent that would get the job done he would have told my mom about it.

If you really are sick, avoid the generic. They are less effective, which is why they are cheaper. From the impression I got, you were really sick.
For the most part, people seem willing to trade off health for money. Ridiculous!

Exactly, Ahmet.

Anyway, it shouldn't have cost more than £6 a week to get tamiflu. There's a piece of legislation that says that.

Why don't you just go to the hospital and prove you're a citizen. They have to treat you then!

I'm not sick anymore, but going to the hospital without insurance would be even more expensive, since they'd probably prescribe the same thing as our doctor.

Yeah, hospitals aren't as nice as America it seems, it's like all their hospitals are private hospitals, possibly without the luxurious extras that having private cover provides.

When I broke my arm in school the nurse suggested I go to the nearest hospital to get treatment, the nearest one being privately run. After waiting for nearly an hour in the emergency ward (My P.E. teacher wasn't sure at first if I'd damaged my spine or not, but I didn't) they took an X-ray, gave me some morphine so that I fell asleep for the next 4 hours, found out that I didn't have private cover, and told me to go to the public children's hospital instead, but not without charging 900 dollaridoos and bandaging my arm, which the nurses at the other hospital immediately told me to remove, because you shouldn't be bandaging broken limbs wthout realigning them. Also they told the public hospital that my right arm was broken when it was clearly my left arm in a sling.
