Can't I just, like, buy a gun and shoot them?

Only if you want to go to jail, which really isn't a bad retirement plan, actually. If your country doesn't punish willful morder with the death penalty and has lax gun laws, it's a valid alternative.

Plus, free sex. (That may or may not be consensual)

The best sex is non-consensual. It's like a fun surprise!

But officer, she told me to fuck her harder! At least I assume she was talking to me. I may have been peeping on her and her husband having sex yesterday. You think she may have been saying that to him? It never occurred to me...
LordRetard wrote:Yeah, but I'm not an English major and I'm not associated with the English department. You can get a specialist in linguistics+English but I will not. A lot of linguistics courses pay special attention to English but only because it has a large number of corpora to work with and we all speak it. I'm not actually taking any English linguistics courses. Ideally we can look at data from any language and work with it, and a lot of the work I do in class is in languages that I cannot speak or understand.
I kind of understand where you are coming from with that.
I tell people I'm a political science major and their first comment is "What are you doing working at Walmart" "So, are you going to run for office?"*
People don't really understand what the polisci program is really about. I mean most politicians don't have polisci degrees.

*Equivalent to "So, LR, are you going to start your own language?" or something akin.

You should totally start your own language, LR.

But it should all be different inflections of the same word.

Yeah, that's basically what I mean. There's no understanding of my study or what we actually do with it.

Inuktitut's already like that, actually. Its inflection is super-complicated so most sentences are just one word that's been infixed repeatedly. For instance, tiiturumaviit (do you want any tea?) is tii(tea)-tuq(to consume)-guma(to want)-viit(2nd-person question marker). All one word, and that's not a long example, just the easiest one I know.

Yes, to you uncouth eurocentric monolingual Anglophones, it may seem, as you deign to call it, "insane".

I remember that the Inuktitut word for sugar is literally translated as 'looks like sand', and computer is 'little artificial brain'.

Huh, it's funny, I was taught the word "sukaq" for sugar, but I'm not sure if that's right because my dictionary tells me something else... Then again that's what an Inuktitut speaker told me, so that's what I go with I guess.

Maybe it's some other Inuit language, then. I don't know, I got from one of those Horrible Geography books.

Well there is a word for sugar that goes "that which looks like sand", according to my online dictionary. Inuktitut is mostly on a continuum so not many people will call them different languages. Dialect might be a better word because there is a lot of overlap, and you can expect to find a lot of the same words in different dialects, just pronounced differently. The word for "that like sand" is siuraujaartuq, derived from siuraq, and that's defined as sugar. But I obviously have no clue.
