New Guinea is part of the same continental shelf as Australia and thus is considered part of the same continent. New Zealand, though not on the same continental shelf, is often considered to be part of the Australian Continent as well. Thus, the Continent of Australia includes at least three countries: Australia, Papua New Guinea, and Indonesia.

Yes it does. Works really well. So does sawdust. You can't use it on it's own, but it does have beneficial effects on the soil. It does depend on what your trying to grow however.

There are patchs in the Amazon forest that used to have villages on it, and they used burning as part of their..... no wait I'm not going on a ramble about this. Ash works as a compost component.

Whenever one of my moms cats die she always cremates them and using the ashes in her rose garden. She has one rosebush for each dead cat.
