I would never forgive myself if I missed this opportunity to remind everybody that Kimra == Hamlet.

I agree.
I disagree.

Also, I think I broke Ed, does anyone know the reset key?

Also that's Right folks! Let us never forget the Kimra-Hamlet connection. Especially since I've had that damn MC Lars song stuck in my head all week. Only recently replaced by Timothy cause cannibals rock.

LordRetard wrote:Nah man, if you read Japanese mangas they're way more porny than american comic books. Well the porn ones are anyway.
If anything Phil Foglio writes "graphic novels".
You mean XXXenophile? Because that's pretty porny.

Yeah that's kind of what I was going for. I mean to say that if actiony graphic novels are like comic books, then porny comic books are like graphic novels. Simple?

You know, last I checked a graphic novel was just a larger/better bound collection of comics. For instance the Rising Stars graphic novel is two volumes of the first 22 comics. The hardcover version of the graphic novel has the whole series, 24 comics in it. Some things are written straight to graphic novel, but again its just the larger binding format I thought. Which is already common in Manga, at least whats imported to the United States. The porn stuff is just classier covered like Bondage Fairies of the thrice bedamned anita blake comics.

Yeah well how would I know that if I don't read them? All I know is that comics go with the teen magazines, and the graphic novels are sorted, by author's name, onto the floor in shambles.

Quoted for the terrible and sad truth. :(

I don't get it. Most of the other YA books were in close to the right order, but nobody gave a shit about the manga. And if you've never worked in a library or visited one, he's not kidding. Kids will literally leave them in a pile on the floor. It's incredibly disheartening when you come back to re-shelve and re-sort them after having done exactly that not half an hour previous.

Hey, I'm not leaving until my shift is over so at least I have something to do. But, I do heave a heavy sigh whenever I see what they've done. I don't even bother putting them in order anymore 'cause no one is ever gonna know. I just line them up so that they're all facing the same direction and it looks much better. We have juvenile, teen, adult mangas and none of them are kept well.

The comic store I frequent tend to refer to those herds that come through as "Manga Cows" Because the kids will come in and sit there reading the same things over and over again. They hate them for their tendency to be there for a few hours then leave a mess on the floor. Really depressingly common at the book stores around here to.

I've noticed several of the comic shops have just started stocking a lot less manga, or keeping it in the back so someone has to ask for it.
