If schools were to change, how would you want them to change? And how would they do that?

It would require gasoline, matches and some marshmallows.

School class sizes are too big. We should introduce panthers into schools to weed out the fat, slow and ugly kids. This has the added advantage of statistically improving the overall health of the community.

And! Carbon emissions would go down because statistically it is the fatter kids that use the school bus.

Schools need more money (so they can pay for the panthers). I suggest we get this money by eliminating useless bullshit.

Better idea: locate schools in the middle of those big zoos that Tundra was on about in Sci-Phi. That way the animals get to hunt food, and the fat kids go away.

Everyone wins!

But what about the useless bullshit?

That's right, all this money wasted on things like textbooks, and smart boards when they should be going towards teacher's salaries!

If states hired people to write books for their state specific curriculums they could print as many as they needed without having to pay outrageous prices.

I don't think there should be textbooks at all. Except possibly for Maths in High School.

And novels for English class.

As someone currently in school I'd say get rid of all the people in the younger year groups.

This is what my province does. We print our own textbooks to go with the curricula, it still costs money, and you still have to justify buying the new textbooks, when the curricula get updated, to your administration. But it's still much cheaper than buying real textbooks and usually much easier to read for students and more relevant.

Why don't you like textbooks?

So that's why she hasn't been on the forum for eight whole hours now.

RIP Tundra .

I think school should be a glorified daycare where parents dump their kids for the day.
