Come on, I just know you're sitting behind your computer thinking "Man, I wish I could listen to the bonus tracks! I love the Homestuck music! "
Well, unless they're on youtube and you've already listened to them. (Which in fact is a form of piracy in itself by the current laws; you're listening to some artist's music without paying them a penny. Why do you think Youtube DMCA's so many videos?) Honestly, I'm not mad though (well, not at you, anyways. I am mad at the laws). If I get in some sort of legal trouble for it however, I will be extremely pissed. You can bet I'll find some way to bring it to the supreme court.
It has enormous cultural value, LR. How else would one discover the world if not by looking and listening? Mankind craves mental stimulation, and music and movies can easily provide a great deal of stimuli. I wouldn't be half the person I am today without music, television, and movies. I'd be an uncultured shell; a living husk. I'm not discounting books either, they're also an integral part to man's learning. That's why I love libraries.

I don't oppose piracy, Bread, I oppose drug laws. My point was that there's this idea of "cultural value" that's too hard to pin down to be of any use. Would I be worse off if I didn't read, listen to music, et cetera? Maybe, but it's really hard to say. Moreover there are people who say that some things are of inherently poor cultural value, and it would be deleterious to expose myself to them! And then there are people who believe that there's cultural value to a fine wine or scotch. Well, who's right in either case? You can take sides but I think the evidence is lacking.

I think the thing to take away from this argument is that alcohol is delicious and makes you forget about the crushing loneliness.

Wow, I am I really the oldest? I knew I was up there, but I think the brothers Two and Crayon were near or older than me. And now Laneth is the only one really close. Well, I think it is my turn to say: Straighten up and fly right, you young punks.

Plus I though Khazd was older. But maybe that's just cos he's married.
True fact: marriage adds 10 years to your real age.

He's been of legal age of consent for at least a year.

Re: So I noticed that we're all pastry chefs now?
So I finished Assassin's Creed II with my father today. Let me summarise why I was unhappy about the ending:Laneth wrote:NOT A SPOILER PER SE
Assassin's Creed II had an ending that both satisfied and didn't for me, I won't say more, but will happily discuss it when you're done.
Voldemort kills Harry, then Harry kills Voldemort...yes, that's the proper chronological order of events. Stupid bloody good guys. That's why I like Escape From L.A. - he flips the switch and plunges the earth into chaos ... good on ya Pliskin (I have no idea what I'm talking about now...)
1. Rodrigo Borgia uses his secret pope powers to kill Ezio. Also, he's totally fine even though he's dead. Just like in Harry Potter, actually. But I had no idea that the pope has SUPER FUCKING POWERS.
2. Ezio doesn't kill Borgia, even though I could have sworn that was the entire plot of the game. It's not that I can't understand the "killing you won't bring back my family" thing; I simply didn't expect it and I don't see why Ezio didn't just slit his throat like he was going to two minutes earlier. Or why they have a fistfight. But that's nothing compared to...
3. An ending ripped out of Indiana Jones 4. I was about right pissed as soon as I figured out what was going on, and I caught on almost immediately when I saw it, too. It's the absolute dumbest cop-out ending I've seen, and it's not even an original.
4. Then we have a sequel-bait credits scene. I just hate the obligation that I'll have to pay for another game just to find out what the fuck is going on.
It was a super-fun game that definitely improved on the original but fuuuuck.

I started laughing uncontrollably when I saw that the story line for Assassin's Creed involves time travel.
