Not so much unique as better crafted... it is the ones out of the assembly line, and there are quite a few of them, that just come out extra shiny, with all those gifts that you'll never have, like the ability to keep the attention of the opposite sex long enough for them to not go off and make out with someone else

You can't make jpegs transparent, they don't support it. Only gifs and pngs can be transparent (and other formats that aren't used on the web).

Almost any graphics program with the exception of Microsoft Paint can do transparency. Even Kolourpaint, the Linux/KDE equivalent of MS Paint.
