since there's this quake thing going on i kinda got nostalgic about old games (well, not that old)
list your old consoles and favourite games for each

the first console i ever had was an atari XE, my favourite games were pengu, missile command, donkey kong and jungle hunt
then came 8bit nes - mario 3, tetris, megaman 3 and punchout

i had a sega genesis for a while, the best game on that one was jurassic park and there's another kickass one called streets of rage
on the super nes - star fox and super metroid

For the Sega Master System (being my first console), my favourite titles were Bubble Bobble (a close replica of the arcade classic), Psycho Fox and Wonder Boy III.

Next I had a Sega Megadrive (Genesis), whereby I enjoyed the Sonic games immensely, as well as the Micro Machines titles. I must admit to having a soft spot for the Mickey Mouse Castle of Illusion games on both this console and the Master System before it.

On the SNES, my all-time favourite game is Unirally, but it's closely followed by Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past and the original Donkey Kong Country.

For the original Gameboy (also known as the brick), nothing can beat Tetris. Especially if you've got two of the unwieldy beasts hooked up together with arcane cables to enjoy a multiplayer Tetris match. Only this way can you find Mario and Luigi fighting to see which of the two plumbers is the better at forcing monochrome-shaded bricks into improbable holes.

I'm including the Amiga in this list as well, given that it's technically no better than the 16-bit consoles of the era, and it has one of my favourite games of all time: Gravity Force II (or, as it was later released, Gravity Power). It's a multiplayer Thrust kinda game, with space ships and some guy shouting "Touchdown!" whenever you land your vessel.

I've given in to my nostalgic urges at various points, and am proud to say that over time I've acquired working copies of the games (and consoles!) listed, which I own to this day.

For Atari I use to play this game where you were a cowboy and you had to rope the steer. That game is so old I can't even remember what it was called.

NES had too many games. Battletoads, Super Mario Bros. 1 & 3, River City Ransom, Legacy of the Wizard and so many more. That's all I can remember.

I liked the Smurf game for, the Gemini, thats right, Gemini, Go Google it.

And for NES, Defiently Duck hunt, i owned everyone at that game.

My favorite games of ye olde days, would have to be Final Fantasy 3, (the NES one, not the SNES american version) ActRaiser, and Ogre Battle. They just felt like such advanced concepts of their time, and they were. All except FF3, that was pretty much the same as FF1, but with more options.

Not this time, sport. It was called Uniracers in the US, if memory serves. A game of racing unicycles around a track, doing stunts to gain speed boosts. It's not-so-shiny when played alone, but really shines when you're playing against someone else. You should all go look it up.

Gah, I completely forgot about the Bomberman titles. Yeah, I've got copies of the various iterations of the game for Megadrive (Genesis) and SNES. Some of the magic is recaptured in the recent DS offering, but it's not the same when someone can't throw down their controller in temper, claiming the buttons didn't work.

Would the original Gameboy count? That big ol' brick with the green screen was the first christmas present that I can remember.
Favourite game?
Hands down, Kirby's Dreamland. I've been trying to find the music for it, especially the battle against King Dedede. Awesome soundtrack, and bizarre premise. Makes me happy just thinking about it.

There was a mode where you could play the music in the game. It wouldn't be too hard to rip that to computer.
