So, my calculations put that at 8 contestants, and 1 reserve. Assuming things stay as they are and we don't get any late entries, that looks like people can be divided into two divisions of four each. Ruo, if someone else drops out because they contract flancer, I might ask you to step in to cover them, but only if they're not already eliminated.

Oooh, double-post.

Okay, because I now have 10 people, I can't put you easily into 2 divisions, so instead, I'll get my random-name-choosing-program* to just choose an opponent for each person in this leg of the competition. Once we've gone through that, you'll all get another match up, and one more after that. That gives you 3 opportunities to earn points in this leg. The lowest scoring 6 after 3 comics will be dropped, the remainder will go on to the next leg.

To remind you all, you get 3 points for winning, 2 for a draw, 1 for losing, and 0 for not submitting on time. So, do keep sending the comics in, as someone who loses 3 times will still outright beat someone who gets a draw then doesn't submit 2 comics.

Now for the names...

Okay, so say hawhaw submits his and I don't bother because, let's face it, I'm a lazy bum and I don't know anything about hawhaw because I haven't been reading my back catalog.

I get 0 points, so how many does he get? Is he the winner by default or does somebody else take my place last minute style?

It doesn't actually matter, I'm just causing noise in "da 'hood, yo".
