Sevans,

anyone who can incorporate Star Trek and Batman gets my vote... Drakken only did half of that.

You remind me of why there are so few good female comedians.

I vote Sevans.

Sevans, thought despite being mod-submitted, Drakkens did make me chuckle.

""Why do elephants have big ears? Noddy wouldn't pay the ransom." Allegedly this joke is funny in England, which uses metric humour."

I liked this line. A lot.

Noddy and Big Ears star in a children's show called Noddy. They are friends, so the elephants have Big Ears.

That is pretty funny, in context.

Somehow I can tell that that's a Dave Barry line without even reading the article. He's up there with Kafka in the 20th century's best writers, I think.

Ah, see I'm Australian, and we actually have a lot of English influence. You talk about Sooty Sweep and Sue, the Bill, Red Dwarf, Young Ones, Noddy, any of those quintessential English tv shows and I've probably seen it (can't actually think of any non-awesome ones right now for example but recent shows from England include Robin of Locksley, Life on Mars, New Tricks (personal favourite) etc). That's why I find the line so funny. I'm still debating if the writer was ignorant or just making an awesome joke (I think it's the latter).

Hey wait... wasn't Noddy banned for it's racism?

It's definitely an awesome joke. Confusion over imperial/metric is one of Barry's recurring jokes.

Of all those I've actually only seen Red Dwarf. But Father Ted is one of my favourite shows.

Father Ted is awesome, I really need to brush up on it though, since I'm having trouble spontaneously quoting it.

Those are the smallest cows I've ever seen.*
