Getting off topic, and back onto topic. Keep up that steam games shit and head for TF2 and Bioshock! Or alternatively, got to Demonoid and download a couple of games illegally. However TF2 won't work like that. List of excellent games begin!

Bioshock
Fallout 3
TF2
HL2 + Ep1 + Ep2 + Lost coast
Left 4 Dead is pretty good but doesn't have a lot of reply value
Portal
Dawn of War + expansions (But not 2)

Also the Penny Arcade games are great, as are a couple of games they've talked about like "The Maw", and "And Yet It Moves".

Anyway all these are available on steam I think. Not sure about DoW though, I know DoW 2 is, but the original maybe not. Anyway yeah, if it's not a multiplayer one like TF2 or L4D you could probably get a cracked version somehow? However of course noone does that? Hell just search Demonoid for the most popular downloaded games.

The game talks to me a lot. Its all like, "Grabbin' Peeeeeeeels" or "GODDAMMIT FRAANCIIISS!" or "Weapons over here!".

It also tells me where to bury the bodies, but I don't think it tells other people that...

I mean it gets boring pretty quickly, as it's not exactly varied. You play one mission, you've essentially played all 4 (and only 4). It's just shooting zombies. Sure they've put the whole play as infected thing on it, but you've gotta play through a whole campaign with 8 people, TWICE, if everyone wants to get a go. Each campaign lasting upwards of half an hour, easily more. So if you want a huge variety, and different stuff? It's not that great. Don't get me wrong I still like the game, and own it, but I haven't played it in a while, and will probably only do so as a group thing with my friends, rather than single player.

As far as the games go:

Blizzard, the only people to care enough to release on MACs too. <insert game of theirs here, except lost viking.>

Dawn of War 1 - great RTS, really solid and actual tactics start to get involved.

Dawn of War 2 - great RPG, sucky RTS but amazingly awesome so long as you remember its a squad based RPG instead...

Mine sweeper motha fuckas. Classic not this new 'replay your board' shit. Obsessive clicking based games to learn pattern recognition on a basic and intuitive level.

Chips Challenge - older then I am, many levels of puzzle solving "fun"

Masters of Magic - I can pray someday a sequel will come... until then this version still has good graphics(esp since its from 1990) and fun solo player. I've heard a dirty rumour there's a patch for multiplayer but I've never seen it work.

Masters of Orion 2 - Not 1, not 3, 2. For days of multiplayer fun when you really are that bored out of your skull. (Fun solo too but most of my fond memories of this one is the 14+ hour multi person hotseat games.) Again from back back in the days.

As far as sim-creation, I thought Mother Eris gave birth to the world and died? Whats up with this 'jesus' guy trying to claim credit?

PC Games I own.

Black and White (and expansion) - Too mission oriented. Which is why I never went back to play it after the first time (where my computer rebooted after I had played for several hours and hadn't gotten around to saving).
Command and Conquer Gold Edition - A fantastic game, and I wish it would work on XP. Alas, I haven't been able to work it. The Gold Edition basically applied the graphics upgrades of Red Alert (a game I didn't like very much) to the original.
Diablo - Haven't played it much since my computer crashed a few years back and I lost my characters. I have some desire to pick up the sequel and its subsequent expansions, but I've never gotten around to it.
Need For Speed 3 - The last Need for Speed to be any good.
Rogue Spear (and expansion)- I couldn't get the game/computer players to do what I wanted them to do, so I quickly lost interest. Had a much easier time when I played the follow up games, but never bought them.
Also, a series of free games that were supplied in cereal boxes. Boggle, Yahtzee and Card Games, to be exact. I occasionally put them in to play for a bit. Card Games has Rook, Racko, and Cribbage, and the AI is decent, so I enjoy playing those as I don't really have the opportunity to play them anywhere else. Boggle has a 4 letter minimum variant, and I enjoy that. And Yahtzee has a colour variant, and I enjoy that as well.

As you can tell, I haven't gotten very involved in PC gaming (not to mention the fact that I've never owned a console) of late.
