I don't understand your objective here. Do you want us to hate you? Do you want us to sympathise with you? Personally I pity you, but pity isn't sympathy.

Re: Star Trek (now with spoilers)
I haven't read most of this thread because I don't to see spoilers, just letting you know.
Actually Rick Berman was adamantly against having gay people in Star Trek, despite writers/the studio being for it. Which is why the issue never showed up again after the first couple seasons of TNG.LordRetard wrote:Haven't they started putting in gays into the series, like DS9 or something? I don't know because it sucked and I didn't watch it.

I'm beginning to think that he isn't comfortable until he is hated and marginalized. Maybe he's looking for us to attack him harshly enough that he can Choo Choo Train out of here.Cirtur wrote:I don't understand your objective here. Do you want us to hate you? The problem is that, for the most part, we are ignoring his little "loathe me" comments.

Why would you state something as obvious as that?

Nah, I'm doing this for the returning members. I expect life to go on as usual for the rest of you that I haven't been goating into attacking me.
Also, last I checked, we didn't have any rules about what a person could or couldn't say. It's not like we have any policies in place that discourage people from discussing any particular topics.
By the way, I'm not going to see this movie. Even if I'm at the theatres, I'm not watching it.

Re: Star Trek (now with spoilers)
I saw this movie today, and I must say it blew me away. One of the best prequels I've ever seen. The acting was wonderful, and the space battles were so epic I'd go see it again NOW if I had the money. The story drew me in, and overall I'd say the movie was nigh-perfect. Could just be the awesome-new-movie euphoria talking though.
I loved it, and recommend it to all my friends.
Also, was the first captain guy that got speared in teh beginning of the movie the same actor that played the bad guy leader of the 10 rings in ironman?
Also, the TNG intro cameo at the end was a nice touch.

Found some cool stuff on youtube.
Star trek 2009 trailer with TOS footage.

Star trek 2009 trailer (for comparison's sake)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7w4vk5OZmn8
That awesome music that is used in the trailer:

God I love that song. It reminds me a bit of metroid in how isolated it makes you feel.
It almost makes you feel as though the inevitable is about to occur in terms of death. such a sorrowful orchestral melody...
