Drakken's First Impressions: Star Trek (SPOILER ALERT)

Hello, Im Drakken, I review it, but could be doing something better with my time.

I gotta say, I'm not a huge trek fan. When I was a young lad, I was too busy being taught the ways of the force by an old man with a haggard beard and a blue lightsaber, but I still watched a bit of star trek here and there. Sure the original series was kindof cheesy, but I liked it enough okay. Still, nothing that I was TOO crazy about.

Stardate 5.11.2009 AD: I have just born witness to one of the greater movies to come out in the past few years.
Honestly, it was a damn good film. Now, normally with trek, I can't go TOO into detail about what might have been changed here and there, but in this movie its BLATANTLY obvious that they wanted a whole new set of circumstances to unfold.

Old Spock even tells us that by him going to the past and having Kirk's dad killed by Nero (the villain of this story, played by Eric Bana- you know, THAT Eric Bana, Aka the actor who played the incredible hulk in that not so incredible movie about the hulk...yeah), the timeline has thus split into an alternate reality, which now allows the writers to do pretty much whatever the hell they want. SUCK THAT, LOYAL FANBASE!!!

There are a few things to nitpick here and there; Spock and Uhura kissing was just bizzare. Talk about an inter-racial relationship!
"It'll never work, im too pointy eared, well mannered and can only mate every 7 years."
"well im black."
"..you win."

Also, Kirk was an asshole. He seemed like your everyday jock bastard that has to prove his manliness everywhere he goes.
"Jesus loves you."
"NO WAY BRA, IM A MAN! THATS SO GAY!"
shit like that. Also, The time travel aspect was cool, but WHAT THE HELL was nero doing waiting for spock at the black hole for 25 years?!

Overall, the plot was satisfying, the graphics were just stunning as all hell, and I was thourughly entertained.
i give it 4 stars out of 5.

P.S: one of the best parts of the movie: THE TRAILERS!!!
Oh. My. God.
G.I. Joe: rise of cobra: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaNs64k_2xw (hell yeah, gi joe!)
Transformers 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_Veo0G2qfY (hell yeah, transformers!)
9: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIpZxBczWUg (this looks so cool...)

Im Drakken, have a great summer at the movies!

That's racist of you to say.

The Kirk I know sung Rocket Man, so he was definitely gay.

That's only 11 days before my birthday! I don't have enough focus to watch trailers right now but it looked like a video game... Like, you know, a REAL video game, man.

Fixed.
Hooray for actually using my mod capabilities! Especially for something other than just deletion of spam or the editing of a potentially harmful post.

Haven't they started putting in gays into the series, like DS9 or something? I don't know because it sucked and I didn't watch it.
