[possibly a] MMO discussion! Yay!
Hmm, I've seen a couple other threads with fragments of similar conversations, but here's a thread where it's the subject...
What MMO's, if any, have you played, or currently play? Or heard of? Or hate? (I'm just trying to start some discussion)
To start things off, I play EVE Online. I've tried WoW, but I prefer the internet spaceship game over fantasy (although just barely) and I can only afford one sub I also off-and-on play Dark Age of Camelot and Everquest 2, though it's been awhile for DAoC.

It's cute that you think you can declare what the subject of a thread is going to be.
Police said they spent some time working out if they could charge the man with being armed with a weapon, as technically he was armed with part of a fish.

I just don't understand why people would try to make me be social when I just want to play my video games.

I got started way back in the days of MUDs (Madrom was my big one.). I tried Guild Wars a bit, couldn't get into it. Witnessed Eve played though never had my own account. I'm sadly a huge WoW addict, complete with being a "hard-core" raider back in the days of Molten Core and AQ40. (I fought the tentacle monster, it raped me/my guild solidly.) I kinda played City of Heroes, but again just couldn't get into.
The whole graphical game thing still feels sort of wrong to me, I think its whats moving me more towards forums. Where text can still reign supreme!

First I played Everquest II.
Then I played Final Fantasy XI.
Then I realized, why the hell am I spending money every month? And now I play Maple Story. I've been kinda inactive lately, but I still consider myself as playing it.

I know I've mentioned this before, but the only one I really play is Runescape.
I started playing when it was relatively new, back in 2002 or sommat. Basically I started it as something to do between endless shifts of working and not really being able to get out of the house.
That continued for a couple of years while I was in university, mostly only when I was trapped in my house with nothing really to do.
I still pick it up from time to time, usually to do the seasonal events. I've been playing sporadically since Easter, mostly for something to do while I'm watching movies.

I gave up the Runescape. Stopped appealing. I was a member for a bit, but it no longer is appealing to my wallet.

I never paid for it. I never liked it that much. I also never spent much time on it when I was able to spend that time on something else. Like I said, I've only ever played it in the last 5 years when I've been doing something else in the meantime.AHMETxRock wrote:I gave up the Runescape. Stopped appealing. I'm about a level 83, without having spent a dime, actually.
My friend who got really into it (had two accounts banned for using robo-alts or whatever, and 3 total). I introduced him to it, but he has more of an addictive personality, so he quickly passed me (plus, he ended up paying for it as well). But he gave me all kinds of free stuff, which helped me level quicker.
He said that I was actually the highest leveled "froob" (generally refers to the noobs who play for free, while I wasn't a noob, I had also never paid) he had yet to find.

Full rune and a dragon long until I realised it was a waste of time.
Guild Wars came along and rocked my world.

Dragon legs, abyssal whip, helm of neitiznoit (good but wierd), granite body, "rune" gloves, white knight boots, obsidian cape.
Oh yes.

Did you remember what colour the sky was by the end of that?

My character has full green dragon and full rune. But I've had that for a long time, and can't really upgrade as a free player.

Cirtur assumes I would have known the color of the sky even if I had not played.
