I invented a game called "numbers". It was really fun to play with my stoner friends because they'd get all confused and wouldn't understand the rules and they'd never realise that I was shouting random numbers.

My buddy has the big hardcover edition with the 5 books in one cover (The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, Life The Universe and Everything, So Long and Thanks for all the Fish, and Mostly Harmless), which was the first edition I had read. This past Christmas I got my own version, which was a box set of the same books. I like mine because I tend to read in bed, and the big hardcover is laborious when it comes to that.
I have seen that there is another version with those 5 and a short story online (among other versions, which were usually less than the 5 books).

You may have sussed it out from my latest ForumBattle, but I am now in possession of this giant compilation of the 5 books. I was in Wellington, and I saw the book in the reading room of the hostel I was staying at, with the following written on the inside cover:

This book once belonged to Ted Chalker. I left it at the Wellington YHA on July 14, 2009 (the same day I walked into the hostel). If you find and read this book please write your name and location on the next page and when that page is full contact me at (email address).

The book is now stationed right next to me as I type this from home. I am still giddy with excitement and already read the first 350 pages in the few free hours I had before returning back home. The last few pages of this thread were great for me to read having just read most of the pages in question just yesterday. Also I like the big book because it is suprisingly light for its size, I was reading it one-handed at the airport whilst eating my sandwich, to the amusement of my friend watching me who thought I would break my wrist doing so. I haven't touched the book yet today, but I might get another 50 pages in before I go to bed tonight. Squeee!
