Well that description could probably apply to at least one episode per season from the show's beginnings over 50 years ago.Astrogirl wrote:I randomly came across one Dr Who episode on TV two years back or so, they were on a planet that was kind of like Wild West or something, and I think there were daleks.
What are you watching right now?

For the non-USians wondering what my state of North Carolina is like, this sums it up pretty well.
Continual disappointment is the spice of life.

Was it this episode? Although it has no Daleks.Apocalyptus wrote:Well that description could probably apply to at least one episode per season from the show's beginnings over 50 years ago.Astrogirl wrote:I randomly came across one Dr Who episode on TV two years back or so, they were on a planet that was kind of like Wild West or something, and I think there were daleks.

Not quite finished season 3 of Bojack Horseman, but the music video 'Get Dat Fetus, Kill Dat Fetus' is pure art.
Spoiler warning for that video obviously.

It's a deconstruction of Hollywood culture. So yeah, basically what Liri said.Astrogirl wrote:0o What is this show about?

Re: What are you watching right now?
I just finished Stranger Things. Some super spoilery thoughts:
-Winona Ryder is so good. I love her so much.
-I was kind of miffed at Barb's death. It's just so tropey to kill off the less feminine looking/larger girls.*
-I was kind of miffed at Hopper for giving up El.
-I felt like the early episodes were stronger than the later ones.
-Kind of predictable and tropey in parts, but mostly fun. I really enjoyed how character based it was.
-Some of those early episodes were not the best idea to watch at 3am.
-Did I mention Winona Ryder was really good?
*see also: Jessica Steen in Flashpoint, Jenette Goldstein in Aliens, a fair chunk of Michelle Rodriguez's body of work, etc.
Also apparently I can't do a bullet point list and put it behind spoilers? That's not cool guys.

Some spoilery thoughts on season 3 of Bojack Horseman:
Was The Bojack Horseman Show purposely parallelling the Dana Carvey Show or am I reading into it?

Re: What are you watching right now?
I really need to finish watching Stranger Things before someone actually spoils it for me. I usually don't care about spoilers and sometimes even seek them out when I get the feeling that a show is going to do something I find annoying or they are drawing out the tension way too long.
Also, I finished season 2 of True Detective not too long ago. I don't know why it got so much hate. I thought it was pretty damn good and had a much better story than season 1. The acting wasn't as good, but it was still good. And it didn't have all the creepy stuff, but that was no issue for me. I sounds like what turned most people off was the lack of the creepy cult stuff and a bias against Vince Vaughn.

Re: What are you watching right now?
I haven't seen Season 2 myself so take this with a grain of Nackle, but I got the impression a lot of people were also disappointed by the portrayal of female characters in True Detective.
Season 1 was very male centric, which is fine, but there were the rumours of Season 2 being focused on female characters and so it was disappointing to hear otherwise, especially with multiple female characters being introduced in their underwear and stuff like that.

Re: What are you watching right now?
I never actually finished S1 of True Detective, as it was right in the middle that I lost my HBO subscription. From what I saw it was a great performance piece, but apart from that pretty mediocre.
Is Stranger Things good?
I think it's next on my list.* I just started Happy Valley since I had it recommended to me by a few people. A few episodes in and it's okay, but I'm hardly hooked.
*Actually, 3rd on my list. I'll be watching The Getdown before or after I finish Happy Valley.
