Yeah, no. I get really indignant when I've read the book first. For example, I loved the first Lord of the Ring's movie, then went home and read the books, and didn't really like the following two movies after that.

I'm less likely to finish a book if I've seen the movie (unless of course it's completely changed around or a really good book). I'm just not as motivated if I already know the ending.

I don't remember where I heard it, but someone was looking forward to porn in 3D... because it'll take someones eye out.

It's probably best for all parties involved if you don't wonder why I know this, but the guy is pretty much dead-on for the second review.

I was just talking about how I wanted to see porn shot with an IMAX camera because it would be terrifying.

Then maybe everyone's said it? That could be the case.

Alice in Wonderland

Post by Kimra »

I saw Alice in Wonderland. It was excellent. I'm willing (and happy) to see it a second time but maybe in 2D this time, just because I haven't had a chance to compare 3D to 2D yet and why not use this opportunity?

3D glasses make things darker, because of some fandangle sciency reason. Tim Burton movie + darker = a little bit hard to see sometimes, but I don't think it actually detracted from the movie at all, just something I observed.

I refuse to elaborate on anything in the movie, because I think people should go without expectations. Expectations can kill a good thing far too easily.

I will attempt not to see it tonight. I'm going to be up for about 24hrs straight, and I don't really want to fall asleep during the movie, even though seeing it was part of the reason to get together with these friends. If I have my way and we don't see it tonight, I'm endeavouring to see it with my sister tomorrow night.

Well do tell what you think of it when you get around to it. :)

It was pretty good. I wasn't terribly blown away, but it is a good movie. The art was great, but if I were to make a suggestion? See it in 2D. 3D was a little distracting, and it felt like the depth perception was screwed up a few times. Between this and Avatar? I think I'm out of the 3D business.

Good performances, the lead girl was fantastic. The plot was great and, like I said, the movie looked good. Loved both Fry and Rickman in their voice acting roles. Perfect fits, both. And Crispin Glover fit his character to a T.
