Remember that time?

Post by Frostbite »

That I was going to start an internet radio station. Well it happened! Boy howdy!

http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/The-Fu ... 135?ref=ts

That's the link to the facebook group, which everyone should be a fan of. The links to listen and schedule are in the info. You should mostly only ever listen to my shows, if only so I can prove my roommates wrong and prove they really are dumbass douches.

Frostbite doesn't know what time it is, he just presses record when a man prods him with a stick through the bars of his cell.

I don't know and am too lazy to find out how to convert that into my time.

Did you get the music licensing figured out, or should I just put my fingers in my ears and pretend I didn't hear any?

Cough. That second one. Cough.

Actually from what I gathered, as long as we either don't make any money or profit, don't recall which is exactly, we are clean.

I've heard that line lots, but I still think it's wrong.
I couldn't be arsed getting a link, but will happily make an analogy:
The warning at the start of videos clearly mentions 'public viewing', indicating not just the profitable kind.

From all the research on licensing I did the first time the idea was pitched, I have to say that Starling is right. Running a properly-licensed radio station would be incredibly cost-prohibitive though, unless you made sure to only use people who release their stuff for free. I think last I checked it would be US$1000 or near enough just for the big three music labels, and that's only if the station doesn't get any money at all.

So yeah, pretend you didn't hear anything.
