I tossed my cards. Oh, the wantonness of youth! Anyways, here we go. REFERENCE!

Completed main games.
Gen 1: Red / Blue / Yellow (red and blue twice)
Gen 2: Gold / Silver (crystal is the only one I didn't get, probably should have just said that)
Gen 3: Ruby / Saphire twice / Emerald twice if you count my bro's before I got one. Odd
Gen 4: Diamond/ Pearl emu, but it's okay, I bought the game afterwards /Platinum
REMAKE FEVER- FireRed, brother's leaf green. HeartGold and SoulSilver, although HG is a birthday gift to him he can't keep it cause of failing grades.

Pokemon Trading Card Game!
Pokemon Pinball!
Pokemon Stadium 1&2!
Pokemon Colluseum 1 and DX which is really 2!
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 1, red GBA version
Pokemon Snap!
Pokemon Puzzle League!

Did not get:
Crystal version. The storyline was improved with Suicune and a battle tower was added, but 2nd gen was already so bad ass that I only slightly wonder what I might have missed.
Hey You Pikachu! The first of pokemon games where I was skeptical. Snap was cool, trading cards fit, and pinball was good before everyone had a computer that ran the program. Was targeted for children, not manly 8 year olds like myself.
Puzzle League. I had one puzzle game. TWO pokemon puzzle themed games would have been overkill.
Other mystery dungeon games. I played the first one four times, and each time a sibling restarted my file after I finally beat the final boss and put it down to rest. You beat pokemon, and sometimes one randomly joins you. Do this HUNDREDS OF TIMES LITERALLY and it loses some appeal.
Pokemon Revolution. WHAT THE FUCK. Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 had fractions of your computing power, and yet had multiple variations of every pokemon available. I'm dedicating a whole post to this shit later.
Pokemon Rumble. It's new, it's different, it's for the Wii. I was too lazy to download the trial and it doesn't seem to be available anymore, so I'm not willing to pay for it. If I meet someone with it maybe they'll let me try it?
ALL THE OTHER GAMES. Remakes of pinball and games like trozie, while pokemon themed, don't have the same appeal anymore. Perhaps they are fun or addictive, but they are better as DSi software rather than full games. It's not worth it, and the pokemon brand name isn't enough to motivate me.

I saw an ad for pokemon tamagochi thingos the other day.
I remember playing pokemon. Don't remember if I finished it or lost interest. I do remember making a kid in school violently angry by trying to turn his gameboy off mid-battle. *sigh* childhood was great :)

Is it sad that I still play these games? Like, to a competitive level?

Needless to say I've played, and beaten, all of the core battling games, and also Pokemon Snap. I never bothered with the spin offs like Pokemon puzzle league, Mystery dungeon or anything like that. The games have a shiny kiddy exterior, but at their core they're almost peerless tactical masterpieces, and that's what draws me to them. So if you remove that from the games in my eyes you basically remove the point.

Nah man, it's cool. Pokemon's metagame gets really deep. For example, if you know the enemy is going to use an electric attack, you can switch to a ground type to not get damage, right? But your enemy can guess you'll do that, and use a water attack instead. It get's crazy, cause if you don't switch the water won't do well, but if you use the electric anyways you lose your attack.

Yeah we have a pretty cool group playing it way too seriously over at Explosm, but we're not really the go-to on maturity or coolness. I'm considering renaming my Snorlax 'Hitler' to better fit the level of hatred thrown it's way when we battle.

It's not very effective!
For anything!
Seriously, what were you thinking?
Police said they spent some time working out if they could charge the man with being armed with a weapon, as technically he was armed with part of a fish.

Those bastards EXPLODE whenever you try to catch them. Imagine having the headbutt trees for a half hour until you find your first one, and it kills itself with it's first attack.
